Causes and treatments:

What are the causes of, and the treatment for, Itchy Scalp?
Itchy scalps are most commonly due to dryness and a lack of moisture to the scalp. Sometimes, stressful situations can cause irritations in the nerves, causing the scalp and skin to itch as well. If dryness is the problem, the solution is to add more moisture internally and externally. Internally, drink more water and find a way to relieve stress. As for hair treatment (externally), apply conditioners to the scalp. You may also find taking a hair/skin/nail vitamin daily beneficial to your hair and body. If the scalp is flaky too… we have the perfect solution.
For best results, we recommend that you shampoo your hair with Therapeutics Scalp Treatment Package. Therapeutics Rx Anti-Itch Shampoo, works by controlling dermatitis, flaking, and itching while moisturizing the hair. Shampoo hair with Therapeutics Anti-Itch Shampoo. After second application allow shampoo to sit for 2 minutes then rinse. Towel blot hair and apply Therapeutics Rx Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner. Blow dry hair or air dry. What are the causes of, and the treatment for, Split Ends?
Split ends are common. They occur when the outer layer of the hair shaft is not completely closed and sealed. Imagine a strand of braided rope that that is worn and used. It most often resembles loose ends where pieces are out in many directions. If it is not corrected immediately the loose ends will travel up the entire strand creating more loose ends. Well, split ends do the same thing. You can eliminate split ends by receiving regular trims (recommended that you receive a trim every 6-8 weeks) to maintain blunt smooth ends.
For added hair protection, use the Design Essentials Anti-Split Ends package and products. First, shampoo your hair with Organic Cleanse then condition with Stimulations Moisturizing Conditioner (3-5 minutes). After rinsing, towels dry your hair and apply Therapeutics Leave-In Conditioner. Apply Silk Essentials to wet or dry hair. After hair is dry apply Nutriment Rx Crème Hairdress. It is a Vitamin enriched supplement with African Shea Butter. Nutriment Rx is scientifically formulated to strengthen hair weakened by chemical and thermal styling. You will find your hair revitalized and the condition improved over time.

What are the causes of, and the treatment for, Shedding?
As a general rule, everyone will experience normal shedding of 150 strands per day. However, if your strands lost exceed 150, you need to pay special attention to your hair. If you are experiencing long strand shedding, this may be a symptom of chemical damage, medication, hormone imbalance or stress. These internal factors, consult a physician. For home hair treatment, we recommend a multi-vitamin or a Hair/Skin/Nail Vitamin. Also, be sure your hair is balanced with both protein and moisturizing conditioners.
For home maintenance, shampoo the hair first with the Organic Cleanse Shampoo followed by the Moisture Retention Shampoo. Then, apply the Design Essentials Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner. Adding moisture to the hair strands allows the hair to obtain the needed elasticity to stretch and return to normal while you comb or brush your hair. The Shedding recipe has advanced formulas to stimulate the scalp and open the pores, allowing the moisturizing conditioner to penetrate and nourish the root and the hair shaft, thus reducing shedding.
For added protection we recommend using Therapeutics Leave-In Conditioner. For finishing and nightly maintenance apply 2-3 drop of Botanical Oil to hair and scalp. For fine hair try Silk Essentials.

What are the causes of, and the treatment for, Breakage?
Hair breakage occurs when the hair strands have been weakened or damaged. There are several causes for breakage but two of the most common are lack of moisture and chemical damage. The proper procedure to address this issue is to strengthen the hair from the within by eating right, taking vitamins, and having an excellent external hair care regime. The end goal is to have hair return to its normal tensile strength to withstand daily combing and manipulation.
If you are currently experiencing breakage locate a trained and licensed cosmetologist to treat your hair with Design Essentials 6-N-1 Reconstructive Conditioner every 2 to 3 weeks until breakage slows and cease. 6-N-1 is scientifically formulated to fill any broken Hair Fibers, stop breakage, and tighten the cuticle.
For home maintenance we recommend shampooing first with Design Essentials Organic Cleanse and follow-up with the Moisture Retention Shampoo. Then condition the hair with Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner to provide the hair with moisture thus leaving the hair more pliable by detangling the hair and eliminating friction amongst strands. After rinsing out the conditioner, apply HCO Leave-in Conditioner to wet hair to seal the cuticle and replenish the hair. With hair that is currently breaking we do not recommend adding the additional stress of blow-drying or hot curling. Instead set, wrap or mold the hair using Design Essentials 3-Dimensions. It can be applied directly to the hair for maximum hold, or it can be diluted using water or HCO Leave-in Conditioner. After hair is dry apply a small amount of Herbal Complex 4 to the scalp. Secondly, apply a small amount of Nutriment Rx to the ends of the hair to further combat breakage.

What are the causes of, and the treatment for, Dryness?
Natural body and shine begins from within, so treat the body inside with more water and vitamins. The proper shampoos and conditioner’s are essential to achieve a moisture/protein balance within each strand. Dry hair is a sign of the cuticle layer of the hair shaft being open which allows the moisture to seep out of the hair strand.
It is important to add a protein conditioner to seal the cuticle followed by moisturizing conditioner. Because most proteins conditioners are so concentrated we recommend seeing a professional stylist for this treatment. If a concentrated conditioner is applied too often you may cause damage to the hair… Yes you can over condition your hair with moisture or protein.
So while at home, shampoo your hair first with Design Essentials’ Organic Cleanse then follow with the Moisture Retention Conditioning Shampoo to gently cleanse the hair without stripping it of natural oils, humectants, and silk amino acids. Then condition the hair with Stimulations Super Moisturizing Conditioner. As a super charged conditioner, it quickly penetrates deep into the hair shaft to moisturize and help seal the cuticle allowing the cuticle to close. There are two importance reasons to close the cuticle of your hair shaft, first light reflects better off a closed cuticle allowing hair to shine and secondly it prevents moisture from leaving the hair. Only then will hair appear healthier and more vibrant.
Follow-up with other home maintenance products such as Silk Essentials for improved manageability, gloss, and body. Silk Essentials can be applied either wet or dry, it will quickly seal the cuticle, hence sealing in moisture and helping maintain elasticity. Finish with Reflections Liquid Shine.
